Cebu Inmates continue to honor Michael Jackson

Ok, these prisoners from Cebu in the Philippines are mostly guilty of serious crimes. But that doesn't mean they aren't capable of being reformed.

Whatever the case, the viral videos released by these inmates dancing to old Michael Jackson tunes seems to have helped the late King of Pop in a number of ways, or so one could suggest.

After all, it was after the first Thriller video released from the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) in April 2007, that Michael Jackson released the Thriller 25 anniversary album in February, 2008. Jackson had discussed the possibility of the album back in 2006, but it is arguable that the tremendous success of the Cebu thriller video helped make Thriller 25 a big success.

In fact, the album sold 3 million copies, a big success when one considers that album sales are nowhere what they used to be back when MJ was at his peak.

By Jan. 2008, the Thriller video from Cebu had been viewed more than 15 million times. At the the time of this writing, the video has some 31,108,033 views.

The video above is a new release in honor of the late star.
