Tiger Woods wins British Open

Tiger Woods won a hard-fought victory at the 135th British Open on Sunday, his first tournament win since the death of his father Earl Woods.

Woods broke into tears in his wife's arms after the tough emotional win: ""After my last putt, I realized my Dad is never going to see this again. I wish he could have seen this one last time. I tried at Augusta (the Masters) and it did not happen. But he was out there today, keeping me calm. I had a very calm feeling the entire week and especially today. Certainly I was thinking about a chance to say that I love my Dad and I miss him very much," he said.

It was Tiger's third British Open championship and his 11th major tournament win.
