Zhang Ziyi to attend reception for Hu Jintao at White House

Zhang Ziyi will attend the welcoming ceremony Thursday for Chinese President Hu Jintao on the White House South Lawn.

Zhang said that if given the opportunity she would ask U.S. President George W. Bush how many Chinese films he has watched.

After having stirred some controversy in her home country for her starring role in Memoirs of a Geisha, Zhang told the Chinese press that she was still interested in Chinese films. She's scheduled to make The Banquet, based on an ancient court drama this year under the direction of Feng Xiaogang.

Her film Jasmine Woman, which won the Jury Prix Prize at the Shanghai International Film Festival in 2004 is slated for public release on April 24 in China.

Daniel Ho releases two Hawaiian hits

Grammy Award-winning producer Daniel Ho has released two new Hawaiian music albums.

Step 2: Herb Ohta Jr. & Daniel Ho features Ho and Ohta on ukulele performing classics like "Song for Anna."

George Kahumoku, Jr.'s Na 'ano 'ano: The Seeds features Hawaiian slack key guitar with vocals by one of this year's ki ho'alu Grammy winners.

Kahumoku's album is already highly-lauded and many feel it is in hot competition for a Grammy itself.

Ho's production Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, vol.1 won the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Hawaiian Music Album. Featured in the release were musicians to Daniel Ho, George Kahumoku, Jr., Keoki Kahumoku, Led Ka’apana, Ozzie Kotani, Cyril Pahinui and Da Ukulele Boyz (Peter de Aquino & Garrett Probst).

Tia Carrere recovering from birth, dancing with stars

Having just given birth to her first child, Tia Carrere could hardly keep up with the other contestants on Dancing with the Stars, but she put up a good showing none the less.

Tia continues to cast as the voice for Nani in the Disney series Lilo and Stitch.

Her last appearance before the camera was in the tv miniseries Supernova where she played Lisa Delgado.
